About Ken
Ken Wagstaff is an East Tennessee-based artist, illustrator, and designer. He enjoys creating artwork using pen & ink, watercolor, and colored pencils. Much of his creative inspiration comes from nature, wildlife, meaningful places, and the stories connected to them.
With a background in graphic design and fine arts, Ken studied at Louisiana Art Institute and Louisiana State University before beginning a professional career in advertising and visual communication.
While much of his professional career has been in the visual communication field, drawing and creating art have always remained at the center of his creative life. In recent years, his creative passion has increasingly returned to traditional illustration and fine art, inspired by a growing appreciation for nature, meaningful places, and the quieter moments of everyday life.
His artwork combines expressive pen work with watercolor to create pieces that feel personal, warm, and timeless. Much of his recent work has focused on commissioned house portraits, pet portraits, wildlife artwork, and meaningful personal subjects.
When he is not working on his next illustration project, Ken enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and enjoying model trains.
Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, Ken continues to create original artwork while also accepting select commissioned illustration projects.
